Vianca That Vagabond

a travel blog about all of my adventures from around the world, mainly as a solo female backpacker who loves the outdoors & feeling small in nature, sprinkled in with some passion for climbing mountains

About Me

Hey hey, my name is Vianca!

I’ve traveled to 35 countries & visited all 7 of the NEW wonders of the world – here’s my story.

(pssst, it’s like Bianca but with a V!)

My two passions in life are international travel and rock climbing. These two obsessions have allowed me to see so much of the world and I want to share all that I’ve learned and experienced with others.

I love grabbing my backpack and getting lost in a new place; constantly craving that feeling of being small and growing from that journey. l believe everyone should leave their home country at least once in their lives and my hope is that I can not only inspire but show you how easy it can be – you just need the right mindset!

I started to fall in love with travel a few weeks after I graduated college in 2017. At 23, I went on my first solo backpacking trip across Europe for 3 months and simply put, I was obsessed with every aspect of it.

I came home a completely changed person with all these new connections formed, incredible stories and experiences to share, inspiring thoughts and ideas to keep on learning about the world and no one to share it with.

I returned home to find that time stood still in my small hometown in VA. I had the most life changing experience and was no longer content living my old lifestyle. It was then that my eyes had been opened to the possibility of an alternative lifestyle- one where travel was my main priority.

I didn’t know what I wanted out of life yet. All I did know is that I had to keep traveling.

I continued to work at my local hole-in-the-wall, neighborhood dive bar saving as much as I could with the purpose of traveling again. 8 months later I bought a one-way ticket to India and backpacked most of SE Asia for the next 6 months.

I never looked back. I decided this was what I had to dedicate my life to.

I have visited over 35 countries and have just recently seen all 7 of the new wonders of the world. My husband and I are currently traveling around the states in our self renovated 1990 Coachmen Catalina RV exploring our own backyard for once, climbing and adventuring every step of the way!

I hope to inspire you to get out of your comfort zone and see more of the world because it truly changed my life.
